Missing my Coven

During my Twilight days, yes I had that moment having read the books before the movie was released and all, I came to meet great people online. They are my fellow bookworms who, like millions of teens and moms all over the world, enjoyed reading the Twilight books.

Back in 2008 or before Facebook was even popular in the Philippines, there was a previously known social networking website called Friendster, and here was where I met these people and it started with a group called the Twilight Series.

The Twilight Series is one of the many groups in Friendster that centers about the Twilight books. It was a group where you get to join, ask questions and have discussions with fellow members as long as the central theme and focus are the Twilight books. But because the same members happen to be constantly online and are always active in the group discussions. I guess it can’t be helped that we became curious with each other. A thread discussion in the group was created and titled “INTRODUCE YOURSELF” or at least something in that sense so that each member can say something about himself/herself. It was a very active group and everyday I would be in my laptop looking forward to new threads and group discussions.

Fast forwarding to a couple of months later, we decided to have a coven name like the Cullen family in the series. It didn’t take that long for us to choose a name. There were just a couple of names suggested and we voted the one we deemed best.

And so we named ourselves the ARSHAVANT COVEN.

Above banners were made when we created our own site at Ning.com before the CEO of Ning decided to suspend their free service. And since majority of the group members during that time were teens and college students, upgrading to a paid account is impractical. Deactivation of the site was regrettable. Nonetheless, the members remained and we moved on and created a group on Facebook (Arshavant Coven).

With the passing of time and the yearly release of the Twilight movies, new members continue to join. However, with the ending of the Twilight movies and the years that followed, members were no longer as active and the high school teens were now in college and the college peeps went on to have busy days with work.

And it was no longer the same…
